Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of placement-house.com and the services provided by Placement House, an Ontario General Partnership (OBR BIN 1001597455) ("Placement House," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
Placement House membership is open to music producers of all ages. Members under the age of majority in their jurisdiction must have parental or legal guardian consent to participate. As detailed in Section 3, the SMS program is restricted to recipients 18 years of age or older.
2. Description of Services
Placement House provides music placement and A&R membership services connecting independent producers with major recording artists. Services include:
- Curated weekly beat sendouts to partner artists, organized by tier (Starter, Pro, VIP).
- Virtual studio events, listening sessions, and artist briefings for active members.
- Discord-based community access.
- Application-based onboarding via discovery calls.
- Communication via email, SMS (where opted in), and Discord.
3. SMS Program Terms
By providing your phone number through our application form, member onboarding, or any other Placement House intake mechanism, you consent to receive SMS messages from Placement House. Message categories include:
- Application: discovery call confirmations and scheduling reminders.
- Sendout: weekly reminders for the Thursday 10pm EST submission deadline and Saturday 12pm EST resubmit cutoff.
- Event: RSVP confirmations and 24-hour briefing reminders for artist sessions.
- Member: onboarding sequences, tier-specific announcements, and placement notifications when your beat is selected.
- Service: account updates, payment notifications, and program changes.
3.1 Age Restriction
The SMS program is restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. Minor members may not provide their own phone number for SMS. A parent or legal guardian must provide their own phone number and consent on behalf of any minor member. We do not knowingly enroll individuals under 18 in the SMS program without parent or guardian consent.
3.2 Opt-Out
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Other accepted opt-out keywords: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT. You will receive a confirmation, and no further messages will be sent. Reply START to resubscribe.

3.4 Frequency & Rates
Active members typically receive 2–6 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan. Placement House is not responsible for carrier charges.
3.5 Carrier Liability
Mobile carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and their subsidiaries) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS delivery depends on carrier networks and is subject to delays, failures, or interruptions outside our control. Placement House makes no guarantees about timing or delivery of any SMS message.
3.6 SMS Privacy
Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are handled per our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, lease, or share this information with any third party for marketing purposes.
4. Membership Terms
Paid memberships (Starter, Pro, VIP) are billed recurring through Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Tier benefits and limits are described on placement-house.com and within our Discord.
Cancellation: cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Memberships are generally non-refundable except as required by law.
Member conduct: submit only original work to which you hold the rights, abide by Discord community guidelines, do not share member-only content with non-members, and do not engage in harassment, spam, or abusive behavior. Violations may result in suspension or termination without refund.
5. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to beats and audio you submit. By submitting for sendout consideration, you grant Placement House a non-exclusive, worldwide license to share those files with our partner artists and their representatives for placement consideration. This license terminates if you cancel your membership or request removal. Placement House does not claim ownership, publishing rights, or master rights in submitted material.
The Placement House name, logo, branding, website content, and member-facing systems are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or used without permission.
6. Application Process
Placement House is selective. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. We may decline applications at our discretion based on fit, capacity, and program standards.
7. Disclaimers
Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Placement House does not guarantee that your beats will be selected, that any specific outcome (placement, cut, or release) will result, or that services will be uninterrupted or error-free. Music placement outcomes depend on artist preference, project timing, label decisions, and other factors outside our control.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Placement House shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid Placement House in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Placement House for claims arising from your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including breach of these Terms. SMS Program Terms, Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification survive termination.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada, unless otherwise required by law.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
