Placement House ("we," "us," or "our"), an Ontario General Partnership (OBR BIN 1001597455), operates placement-house.com and provides music placement and A&R membership services. This policy describes how we handle your information.
1. Information We Collect
- Contact info: name, email, phone number, Instagram and other handles you provide.
- Application info: details from your discovery call booking, including prior placement experience and beat catalog count.
- Membership info: Discord username, payment information (handled by Stripe), and records of sendout and event participation.
- Submitted content: beats and audio files you submit through Dropbox for sendout pack inclusion.
- Technical info: IP address, browser, device, and page-visit data collected automatically.
- Communications: messages you send us via email, SMS, web forms, or Discord.
2. How We Use It
- Review applications and schedule discovery calls.
- Operate memberships, weekly sendouts, events, and placement notifications.
- Send transactional and informational SMS where opted in (see Section 3).
- Process payments and manage memberships.
- Improve our services and comply with legal obligations.
3. SMS Communications & Opt-In
If you provide your phone number through our application form or member onboarding, you consent to receive SMS messages from Placement House. Messages may include:
- Application confirmations and discovery call reminders.
- Weekly sendout reminders (Thursday 10pm EST cutoff, Saturday 12pm EST resubmit).
- Event RSVP and briefing reminders.
- Member onboarding for new Starter, Pro, or VIP members.
- Placement notifications when your beat is selected.
SMS opt-in is explicit and optional. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. Frequency varies based on engagement; typically 2–6 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply.
SMS opt-in is restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. Minor members must have a parent or legal guardian provide their own phone number and consent for any SMS communications. We do not knowingly collect SMS opt-in information from individuals under 18 without parent or guardian consent.
No Sharing of SMS Opt-In Data. Placement House does not sell, rent, lease, share, or otherwise disclose your phone number or SMS opt-in information to any third party for marketing purposes. SMS opt-in information is used solely to operate our SMS communications with you and will not be shared with affiliates or third parties for any purpose beyond the messages described above.
4. Cookies & Tracking
placement-house.com uses essential cookies for site functionality and may use limited analytics (anonymized where feasible) to measure aggregate usage. Embedded third-party widgets (such as the LeadConnector calendar) may set their own cookies under those providers' policies. Control cookies through your browser settings.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate (GoHighLevel for CRM and communications, Stripe for payments, Discord for community, Dropbox for file storage, Google Workspace for internal collaboration), when required by law, or in the event of a business transfer. As stated in Section 3, we do not share phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing purposes.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards including access controls, HTTPS encryption in transit, and limiting access to personnel who need it. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information; withdraw consent for SMS or email; opt out by replying STOP; and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact genie@placement-house.com.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Application data is typically retained two years after last interaction. Membership data is retained for the membership duration plus seven years for tax purposes. SMS consent records are retained as required by telecommunications regulations.
9. Children & Age
Placement House membership is open to producers of all ages, but minors must have parental or legal guardian consent to participate. As stated in Section 3, the SMS program is restricted to recipients 18 years of age or older; for minor members, a parent or guardian must provide their own phone number and consent for SMS. We do not knowingly collect SMS opt-in information directly from minors. If you believe we have collected SMS opt-in data from a minor without parent or guardian consent, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
Placement House is based in Canada and serves members internationally, including in the United States. Your information may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own. By using our services, you consent to such transfers.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
